Timothy Brown, Sr. Obituary

Timothy Brown Sr., affectionately known as “Tim”, departed this life Saturday April 13, 2024. He was born Tuesday, September 28, 1948, in Mineola, Long Island, New York, the son of the late William (Buster) and Delphia Brown.

Tim was educated in the Nassau County School System and found a love for athletics. He competed in track and field and played football. He attended Fisk University on an athletic scholarship. He graduated from Fisk University, Nashville, Tennessee in 1971 with a degree in sociology.  He met the love of his life, Barbara Watson, and they were married on November 27, 1971. He received a graduate degree from Howard University School of Social Work in December 1973.

He retired from his career as a Licensing Specialist for Montgomery County Maryland in 2004.

He loved spending time with his family and friends and cruising. He enjoyed watching Westerns and Law and Order, taking videos, watching sports, and listening to music. He delighted in attending family reunions and always had an extraordinary time with his family at the reunions. He was a member of Kingdom Fellowship AME Church.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years Barbara Brown. His son Timothy Jr (Marie), his daughter Natalie, his grandchildren Timothy Michel Brown, Nina Elisiya Dorvil and Nyla Victoria Brown, his brother William (Bill) Brown, cousins John Brown, Elizabeth (Ibrahim) Amin and Debbie Lewis, Brown cousins, Reid cousins and Martin-Leverett cousins, sisters-in-law Nina Green, Dottie Watson (Christopher), Valerie Watson, Viviyonne Lee and  late brother-in-law William Watson Jr and a host of nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews and beloved friends.
