Allen Williams, Jr. Obituary

Allen Augustis Williams, Jr. passed away peacefully on Sunday September 15, 2019.

Allen, affectionately known as Jr, was born on October 2, 1965 in Bethesda, Maryland to Allen A. Williams, Sr. and Sherry A. Garrison.

Allen graduated from Damascus High School in 1983.  During his high school years, he had a passion for working with wood, making beautiful wood frames, canes and step stools. Jr at a young age became a diehard Redskins fan, he wore his hats, jackets and jerseys proudly.  But there was nothing like his love of music and Michael Jackson. (If someone were to ask family or friends do you know Jr. they would answer “who, Michael Jackson, Jr”). He would show up and out with his self-learned art of dancing like Michael Jackson. He was so good, that at a young age, family and friends would give him money to dance. Michael Jackson was his inspiration through life.

Jr was raised in Emory Grove (Washington Square). He was the oldest of seven siblings.  After high school, he met Lisa Shelton and from that union they had two children, Danielle Williams and Wesley Williams. Jr loved to spend time with his family and friends. Watching basketball, football and eating food was his calling.  He loved Thanksgiving and his mother’s pumpkin pies and sweet potatoes…”  Don’t forget the marshmallows he would say”!  He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends, a game of Madden or bowling was something he looked forward to.

His father Gary Garrison, Sr. is who started the love of working with Asphalt. He worked for different Asphalt companies but held his longest positon with A.B. Veirs & Sons, Inc. Paving.

As we remember our Jr. beloved son, brother, father, uncle, and friend.  We will remember the love, kindness, funny dancing machine he was to every life he touched.

Jr. leaves behind his children, Danielle Williams and Wesley Williams; father, Gary Garrison, Sr.; step-mother, Hattie Williams; siblings, Nanette Williams, Mildred Williams Genies (Roger), Doreen Hereford, Shamela Garrison, Allen Martin, Gary Garrison, Jr.;  grandchildren, Lamere Henson, Naomi and Wes Williams; nieces, ShawQuana Thompson, Sherika Davis, Nykra Garrison and Tayla Hereford; nephews, Nathaniel Williams, Brandon Williams, Roger Genies, Dawuan Genies, Elmore Davis, Quillow, Mark and Josh Duvall, Demitrious Gary; great aunt, Geraldine Stuart; special friends; Charlene Hawkins, Buggy (Sky), Tracy, Seatrice and Vanessa; a host of other friends and family.
