Barbara Coleman Obituary

Barbara Coleman, 82 of Rockville, Maryland peacefully passed away at her home on Saturday, September 22, 2018. Barbara was born on September 21, 1936 in Virginia to Richard and Hattie Coleman.

She received her education in the Virginia School system. She moved to Washington, DC and later to Germantown, Maryland.

Barbara was a devoted and hard worker as a HR Specialist for NEBF (National Electrical Benefit Fund). She temporarily retired and ended up working part-time at Sears and decided to fully retired after a year or so.

After moving to Rockville, she attended the Church of Christ at Manor Woods where she served as a welcome host, worked with the kids' ministries and on the prayer team. In her spare time she enjoyed taking photos, walk and cooking on Saturdays. We all looked forward to her sweet potato pies during the holidays. She loved dogs and always eager to converse at Sunday service. Barbara had a sweet, gentle and caring spirit.

Barbara will be reunited in heaven with family members who made the journey before her. Her parents Richard and Hattie, brother, Herbert (Marcelina) and Logan; sisters, Annie Walker, Ruby Coleman; nephews, Peter and Jimmy Lee and Gloria C. Lewis.

Left to cherish her memories is her eldest sister, Queen Ester of Maryland, nieces, nephews and family and friends.
