Karan Williams Obituary

Karan Louise Williams was born August 19, 1957 in Denver Colorado.  She is survived by her parents: Melvin Williams (Stepfather), late Lucy Mae Pigford-Williams (mother), Yolanda Elaine Williams (sister), Ronald David Williams (brother-in-law), and Tyler David Williams (nephew) and other relatives (cousins, uncles, aunts).

Being part of a military family, she moved around a lot.  She has lived in Weisbaden, Germany, Spokane, Washington and Denver Colorado.  The family moved in the early 70’s to Washington, D.C. and settled in Germantown, Maryland.  She attended Magruder High School and graduated from Gaithersburg High School in 1975.  Immediately after high school, she was accepted at West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon, West Virginia.  She graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan in 1979 with a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Business Administration.

She served in the Federal government for 25 years.  She started her Federal career as an Executive Secretary with Indian Health Service (IHS) located in Rockville, MD.  She also worked for the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) [Rockville, MD], and graduated to Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) as a Program Analyst.

Some of her hobbies included Interior Decorating and floral arranging.  She was an excellent organizer and had extraordinary planning and administrative skills.  Karan also loved animals, taking long scenic drives, and singing.  She will always be remembered by her warm smile, gentle and kind heart, and bubbly laughter.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for blessing us with the gifted life of Karan.  May You make it known to her how much she was loved, appreciated, valued, and admired by so many of us.  Forgive where she may have fallen short and we ask for Your Hand of mercy and grace to comfort our hearts and minds during this time.  Help us to walk closer to Thee all the more each day.  In Jesus Name we pray,

AMEN
