Rory Demille Summerour, departed this life on Friday, February 15, 2019. He was born to the late Roy D. and Estelle C. Summerour on October 30, 1955. He grew up in the Lincoln Park community and was educated in the Montgomery County Public School System.
Rory loved people and it was this love that led him to become a caregiver. No job was too big, no case too difficult. He treated all he cared for like family, giving each his undivided attention, commitment and support. As one friend put it, "there will never be another gentle caring soul like him. His love for people and his Lincoln Park Community family can never be measured. He was always consistent in who he was."
He looked for opportunities to bring people together so when the Lincoln Park Forever Family Reunion was birthed, he eagerly took on the role of organizer. He was also known to do a mean piece of cooking. Few have mastered potato salad and ham like him!
Rory accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior on April 20, 19 75 . He was baptized on September 7, 1975 and became a member of the Inter-denominational Church of God under the leadership of Dr. Phillip W Davis, Sr. He was one of the original members of the first Young Adult Choir and volunteered to help to clean the church and anything else that needed to be done.
