Samuel Aaron Harper, born to the late Beulah Clarke Harper and Cole Harper on January 2, 1932 in the community of Jerusalem in Poolesville, Maryland. A graduate of Lincoln High School, Class of 1949, he immediately entered and served in the United States Air Force upon graduating from high school. He was honorably discharged from the military after four years of service, reaching the rank of Sergeant.
He returned home and attended Morgan State University, graduating in 1957 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. Samuel married Betty Onley on April 28, 1957 and this union blessed them with two children. Since 1962, the family resided in the Big Woods Road Community of Dickerson, MD.
Samuel passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 15, 2018 in Bethesda, MD. He is survived by his dear spouse Betty Onley Harper of 61 years. He is also survived by his children, Cathy Harper-Hogan, MD and Roderick A. Harper; his three granddaughters, Camera Hogan, Lindsay Harper and Erin Harper; one brother Bernard Harper and a host of other relatives and friends.
