Tiffany Thompson Obituary

Ms. Tiffany “Tiffy” Renee Thompson, 46 of Frederick, MD, formerly of Washington, DC and Charlotte, NC, passed away after a courageous battle with breast cancer on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center.

Tiffany, also known as “Bird”, was born in Frederick, MD on February 26, 1972, daughter of the late Ruthie Thompson and Gerald Stewart.  She was raised and spent her youth in Centersville, MD.  She graduated from Frederick High School in 1990.

Tiffy was the devoted daughter of Ruth Thompson, “Ruthie”.  She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.  She worked as the Senior Administrative Assistant at the American Civil Liberties Union - DC (ACLU).   Many years prior, she’d followed in her mother’s footsteps working for GEICO in Chevy Chase, MD. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and visited the stadium on many occasions.  She enjoyed shopping and had an incredible collection of designer purses and shoes.  She was a frequent traveler, exploring places around the world with friends such as Dubai, Iceland, Costa Rica and Columbia, as well as all over the US. Tiffany truly enjoyed  a good cigar and attending events with numerous motorcycle organizations.   Her favorite pastime was spending time with family and friends.  You could often find Tiffy at Takoma Station and the Mountain City Lodge, her “watering holes”, where she enjoyed “cocktailing”. Most notable, she was an amazing person with an amazing smile bringing light to every room she entered. She lived life to the fullest.

Tiffany is survived by Gerald Stewart; her brother, Michael Stewart; sister-in-law Rhonda; nephew, Christopher; niece, Chandler; her maternal aunt, Roxena Worrell and a number of cousins, loving mention Beth Johnson.  She had two godchildren, Gayon Sampson and Ajanae Thornton. She also leaves behind her devoted second mothers Carolann Patterson, Bonnie Swann, Linda Shern, and Beverly Pannell frequently referred to as the “Golden Girls” as well as her forever friends “The Posse”.  Her extended family includes Donald Weedon, Tiara Saunders, Kymm Shern, Tamico Keene, Jason Swann, Trinity Dorsey, and Melinda Boyce; several aunts, cousins, and many dear friends.  Tiffy was predeceased in death by her grandmother, Mary Thompson; mother Ruthie Thompson; her uncles Charles, Ernest, Daniel and Elmer Thompson, and aunt Maryann Thomas.
