Aaron Preston Spears was born in Washington, D.C. to Pastor Kenneth Spears and Denise Colbert.
Aaron is a graduate of Paint Branch High School in Silver Spring MD. He also attended Los Angeles Harbor College in Los Angeles California.
He married Jessica rae Dobson on March 31, 2012 and from that union was born August Preston Spears, or “Gus” as he was lovingly called by his dad.
Aaron, a professional and incredibly accomplished drummer, was admired by many in the entertainment industry. He was held in high esteem by fellow musicians for his talent and the exceptional man that he was. He was well-known nationally and internationally. A true man of God, Aaron changed the atmosphere when he entered any room. His humility, and warm friendly smile always made others feel at ease and comfortable. Aaron was, indeed, a true man of God who exuded the loving Spirit of Christ.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Jessica rae Spears, and son August Preston. Aaron also leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Pastor Kenneth Spears and Denise Spears Colbert; four sisters, mother-in love, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, several nieces and nephews. He also leaves to mourn his passing numerous family members, God-mother, God-children, church family, friends, legions of fans, and entertainment industry colleagues.
To quote his wife, Jessica, “We were blessed to have him in our lives. His legacy will live on through the beautiful rhythms he created and the love he shared with me, Gus, and all whose lives he touched. Please remember Aaron for the incredible person he was and the amazing music he brought into our world.
