Alice Rebecca Moore

Alice Rebecca Moore who was known affectionately as "Sissy" by her siblings, . was born on December 27th, 1932, to the late William Thomas Bishop and Laura Bowen Bishop. Alice was the fourth oldest of six children. She was a resident of Spencerville, Maryland for most of her life. Alice ended her earthly journey on Monday, October 11th, 2021, in quite comfort at her home.

Alice graduated in 1951 from the Lincoln High School in Rockville, Maryland. Upon graduation she went to work at Naval Ordnance Laboratory in the cafeteria. Shortly thereafter she married Robert Lee Moore and moved to Washington, DC where she gave birth to Marvin and Linda . After four years ofliving in the "Big City" they decided to return to Spencerville and purchase a home.   Alice reared her family and lived in that same home for sixty-four years.

Alice was employed by the Montgomery County School System and held several positions over the course of her employment. She retired in 2007 with over 40 years of service. Alice enjoyed cooking for family occasions, shopping for clothes, antiques, knickknacks, and attending her children 's sporting events. She also enjoyed playing pinochle and doing word search.

She is survived by her husband Robert Lee Moore and of that union they were blessed with four children, Marvin (Karen), Linda (Carey), Kevin, and Melvin. A caring and supportive mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister­ in-law, and aunt. She was cherished by eight grandchildren, Carey II, Ricky, the late Marvin Jr., Kevin Jr., Brittany, Tiffany, Danielle, and Carmen; three great­ granddaughters Aniyah, Lillian, Katlyn, one sister Mary Robinson; one sister-in­ law Catherine Bishop and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
