Allante Watts Obituary

  Allante Nathaniel Watts

February 12, 1995 - January 21, 2024

Allante Nathaniel Watts was born on February 12, 1995 to Allan D Watts, Jr. and Denise R James at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Maryland. Allante’s early years were spent in Kensington, MD before moving to Inwood, West Virginia. Allante graduated high school and attended Shenandoah University to continue playing football, which he loved. After only attending for one year, he then transferred to Glenville State University but after one year, he didn’t feel college life was for him. He went on to explore other career options outside of college Whilst training to become a firefighter, in March 2018, he welcomed a daughter, Graelynn Olivia Watts. In April 2018, Allante completed his training and became a Volunteer Firefighter for South Berkeley Volunteer Fire Company. Needing and wanting to provide more for his daughter, and living in a new state, (North Carolina) Allante gained employment at Carolina Premium Beverage. After being on his job for one year, Allante took on another job at Charlotte Douglas International Airport de-icing planes for Integrated Deicing Services.

On June 2, 2023, Allante successfully completed his courses to gain his CDL license and was extremely proud of himself and his accomplishments. Allante was employed at both jobs up until his untimely death. On January 21, 2024, Allante was involved in a fatal crash in North Carolina that separated him from this earth physically. Allante was 28yrs old at the time of his passing. Allante is preceded in death by his grandparents: Lloyd and Alice James, Allan D Watts, Sr. and Larry Mosley. One uncle: Walter Watts, Sr. Two aunts: Carol James and Linda Watts. Allante leaves to cherish his beautiful memories: His mom: Denise R James, his dad and stepmom: Allan and Tondeleyo Watts, one daughter: Graelynn, three sisters: LaTesha (Quian), Tawsha and Kendra, two brothers: Braxton and Andre, one niece: Anneila (Anni), two grandmothers: Ella James and Bertha Mosley, and a massive host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Allante was an amazing father, loving son, caring brother and devoted friend. He meant so much to many and his smile was contagious and lit up a room. He could make you smile instantly and always cracked a joke to get you in a good mood. There were no bad days with him. His spirit was so kind and he had a way of making you feel calm, special and loved. He worked hard to provide for his daughter. He wanted to be sure she had everything she could possibly want and need and because of that, he rarely missed work. To know Allante was to love him, he was famous in his own way and he will be greatly missed. Allante is our angel now.
