Anna Elizabeth Amy Perez
Anna Elizabeth Amy passed away on July 19th, 2024. She was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, on September 5th, 1950. Anna Elizabeth is survived by her two sons, Andres Martin McAlister Jr. (Hayden) and Felipe McAlister (Briston); her siblings Jorge Amy and Lilian Amy (Alvaro); her grandchildren, Andres Martin III, Francis Hayden, Neil Cullen, and Felipe Jr, and her dear cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Anna Elizabeth was a devout Catholic, a graduate of the Colegio Sagrado Corazon in Montevideo, Uruguay. She was an exemplary role model who dedicated her life to helping others and putting her trust and faith in God. After a 30+ year career at the World Bank Group, she pursued her passion for photography, focusing primarily on newborn family photos at hospitals across Washington, D.C. Her volunteer work included supporting young single mothers through community work at Our Lady of Lourdes and offering her time to help serve food at Miriam's Kitchen and St. Jane Frances de Chantal Parish. She enjoyed traveling to new countries, playing canasta with her siblings, trips to Punta del Este with her friends, and going for long walks to enjoy the four seasons in Washington D.C.
Anna Elizabeth's love for her family and friends was a defining aspect of her life. She was a passionate sports fan, finding great joy in watching her grandchildren play sports and cheering for the Uruguay national soccer team. Her never-give-up attitude was evident in her life, a beautiful testament to her love for her children, siblings, grandchildren, and friends. Her warmth and spiritual light touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is predeceased by her parents, Alfredo M. Amy and Ana E. Perez.
