Augustus Kwasi Boateng Achiampong

Augustus Kwasi Boateng Achiampong, 71, of Damascus, MD passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on August 28, 2025.

Augustus was born in Kumasi, Ghana in 1954 to Welbeck Achiampong and Margaret Arthur. He spent his younger years in Accra, Ghana with his siblings. He attended Mfantsipim, an all-boys secondary school in Cape Coast, Ghana and went on to receive his accounting degree from the University of Ghana. After travels throughout Europe, he finally settled in the United States and began to make Maryland his home. Augustus worked as a CPA for the Department of Defense for many years. Augustus was known to love nature and especially cherished his long walks with his beloved and since departed dog Samantha. He was also a major Manchester United and Washington Capitals fan through and through. 

Augustus is survived by his wife Sheila, daughter Margaret, son Kojo, daughter Ashley, and granddaughters Everlee and Ari. 

There will be a viewing held at Rockville United Methodist Church in Rockville, MD at 9:00 am followed by his funeral service at 11:00 am on September 19, 2025. The burial will be held at Parklawn Memorial Park and Menorah Gardens in Rockville, MD at 1 pm.
