Beatrice Antoinette Dorsey “Bea” was born on November 7, 1964, to Charles Dorsey, Sr. and Mary Budd Dorsey at Montgomery General Hospital. She was the oldest of three children. She grew up in the Silver Spring area and graduated from Sherwood High in 1983. As a young adult, she was a member of Oak Grove A.M.E. Zion Church, where she was a member of the Young Adult Choir.
Bea worked at Peoples Drug Store on Bel Pre-Road for many years and the Red Rooster in Damascus for 17 years before moving to Hagerstown with her father. Most recently, Bea worked at the Hagerstown Dollar Tree, where she was known for her friendly and outgoing personality by both customers and co-workers; many of whom were neighbors, some of whom became her dear friends. Bea always had a kind word for everyone. She loved music, and she loved to sing. She was a devoted daughter her whole life.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Budd Dorsey and younger sister, Cynthia Dorsey. She leaves to cherish her memory, her father Charles, Sr., one brother Charles, Jr., one aunt, Cynthia Brown, two great aunts, Celestine “Sally” Budd Armstead and Sadie Budd Wagner, two uncles Clifton Budd, Sr. and James Budd, four nephews Aaron Dorsey, Jerome Dorsey, Ronald Johnson, and Cameron Dorsey, two nieces Aliyah Dorsey and Tamia Hardney, one sister-in-law Rebecca Dorsey, a host of family and friends, and a devoted friend Shelley Puffenbarger.
