COL (Ret.) Vandy Leonard Miller was born on February 16, 1932 to the late Mary and Wade Miller and was called unto eternal rest, by his Lord Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, with his children faithfully, by his side.
His loving wife, Sylvia B. Miller preceded him to heaven, on March 29, 2012.
He was the beloved father of Attorney Kerwin E. Miller, LTC (Ret.) Karen B. Saunders and Karmen L. Miller (Gregory White); loving grandfather of Markia Sylvia Abdur-Rahman, LaShawn Marie White, Phillip Joshua K. Brooks, and Vandy Jamal B. Brooks; adoring great grand-father of Mazaani, Mai’Sara, and Munirah; and brother of, Risden Miller and Dr. MT Miller (Bobby) and Imogene Campbell. He is also survived by a host of other loving and caring relatives.
Vandy was a devoted neighbor and resident of Silver Spring, Maryland, for over 50 years. Most of all, Vandy was a faithful Christian, who will be truly missed, by all who knew and loved him.

Interment, with full military honors, for COL (Ret.) Vandy L. Miller will be held at Arlington National Cemetery, 1 Memorial Avenue, Fort Myer, VA 22211, on Friday, July 2, 2021 at 3:00pm. Any family and/or friends planning to attend the interment honoring the life and service of COL (Ret.) Miller must arrive at Arlington National Cemetery by 2:15pm via Memorial Avenue, where they will be directed by Arlington National Cemetery staff.
