In Loving Memory of Carole Staton 

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Carole Theresa Staton, born on May 12, 1934, the 9th child out of 13 children, passed away January 31, 2025. She was 90.

Carole was the heart of her own nuclear family and extended family. She was married for 70 years to Eldridge Staton, who preceded her death and is survived by three children, Richard, Joann and Marilyn. She was grandmother (Nana) to Sheena, Naomi and Aria and great grandmother to Antonio and Ari. Carole had an extraordinary gift for nurturing those around her, and with a listening ear and open heart, fulfilled the role of surrogate mother to a myriad of nephews, nieces and family friends.

A master of homemaking and hospitality, her home was always open and her table was able set. She was also a fearless academic. Having graduated Valedictorian of her High School class. While her husband served in the military, she upheld the family and worked tirelessly to earn her Bachelors Degree at Howard University followed by her Masters of Social Work after raising her children.

At her request her ashes will be laid alongside her husband at Maryland Veterans, Maryland.
