Charlotte Williams Obituary

Charlotte M. Williams was born December 16, 1949 to the late Leroy W. Williams and Iola V. Williams. Charlotte passed away on Monday, October 12, 2020 surrounded by her family.

Charlotte graduated from Gaithersburg High School in 1967. In June of 1969, she began her career with the Federal Government with dedicated service in various branches such as Health and Human Services and the Food and Drug Administration. Charlotte served 36 years as a Federal Government employee gaining multiple promotions and constantly recognized for her hard work and eagerness to quickly learn new programs. She retired from the Federal Government in 2006.

After retiring Charlotte took that time to redecorate her home, shop at her favorite stores, spend time with her grandchildren going to McDonald's, walk in the malls, and getting mani and pedi care. Another one of her favorite pastimes was to watch HGTV where she got decorating ideas for her home and her girl's homes. She also enjoyed watching ION TV.

Charlotte was a very giving, kindhearted person who said what was on her mind. Behind the tough exterior, she was a woman who cared for others before she cared for herself. If any of her children, grand or great-grandchildren were in need of anything, if she had it, she would give without any problem. Charlotte loved her sisters and would do anything for them as well.

Charlotte has two beautiful daughters, Charlene N. Williams and Mieda L. Williams. Charlotte left a legacy for the finer things in life, and would always say, "Don't buy cheap, good things are worth paying a lot of money for one time!"

Charlotte spent the majority of her life living in Washington, DC, until she became ill. She moved with her eldest daughter and granddaughter along with two great-grandchildren in Beltsville, Maryland until her passing.

Along with her daughters, Charlotte leaves her grandchildren Kaisha T. Clunie, Elise V. Williams and Elisabeth V. Williams; great-grandchildren Loyal T. Robinson and Messiah T. Robinson; sisters, Peggy McFarland, Gloria Williams and Louise Hopkins; a host of nieces and nephews, along with many co-workers and friends.

She was also predeceased by her siblings Larry L. Williams and Edith Wilson-Evans.
