Clinton Prather Obituary

Clinton T. Prather (aka. Bird)

June 21, 1958 – May 2, 2023

Clinton T. Prather was the fifth son born to Maurice and Elanor Prather of Gaithersburg, Md.  on June 21st 1958.  Clinton was raised in Gaithersburg, Maryland where he attended school.

Clinton was a young boy who had a joyful character and spirit until the age of fourteen, when life took a tragic turn, and as a result, snatched him away from family.  He was always away.

After the death of their parents, Clinton’s beloved brother Paul became his mediator and overseer for his wellbeing.

Clinton’s most recent years were spent at Plesant View Health facility in Mt. Airy, Maryland.  His healthcare team took exceptionally loving care of him as a resident.

There was a time when cousin’s Sharon Gibson and Lena Bowie made a visit to Clinton at Pleasant View Health facility after many years of him being away, Clinton recognized them calling out their names.  What joy and blessing!

When Clinton’s health took a turn for the worse on Friday April 28th, 2023, we assured him that he was loved and given many hugs and kisses before his final hours when the Lord called him home.

Clinton was preceded in death by his parents Maurice and Eleanor Prather; brothers, William (Mickey), Raymond (Boo), Sidney, Paul, John, and his only sister Pamela.

Clinton leaves to mourn three sister-in laws, DeSherryl Woody Prather; Donna Gibson, and Wanda Prather.  A host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; great nieces and nephews,

Clinton was beloved by cousins Rev. Sharon Gibson and Lena Bowie.

We are tossed and driven on the restless sea of time, somber skies and howling tempests oft succeed a bright sunshine; in that land of perfect day, when the mists have rolled aways, we will understand it better by and by!
