It is with profound sadness that we announce the passi.ng of Devante Offutt, who departed this life on Friday, June 13, 2025, at the age of 29. Born on July 19, 1995, Devante was a devoted father, loving son, caring brother, and loyal friend whose life left a lasting imprint on everyone who knew and loved him.
Devante was born and raised in Gaithersburg, Maryland, and was educated in the Montgomery County Public School System. From an early age, he displayed a quiet strength, a protective nature, and a deep love for his family.
He found his greatest joy in being a father to his two beautiful children, Dai'larion and Da'Nlyah, who were the light of his life. Devante was deeply involved in their lives and took pride in every ives moment shared with them - from laughter and lessons to simply being present as their protector and guide.
Devante cherished time with family and is survived by his loving mother, Shanna Garcia, and his father, Frank Offutt; his devoted sister, Diandra Gray, and brother-in-law, David Gray; his grandfather, Terrance Johnson; nieces Delilah and Jordan, and nephew Russell. He also leaves behind several aunts, Shakia
Swinton, Sharell Simms, Sharita Swinton Terracita Harvey, and Shamira Harvey and a host of cousins, and many friends who admired his loyalty and calm presence.
He was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Frankie Swinton, whose memory remained close to his heart.
Devante shared a special bond with his best friend, Tierra Riggs, whose friendship and support meant the world to him. He also had a special friend, whose presence brought comfort and companionship in his journey.
Known for his quiet strength and love for music, Devante enjoyed listening to Kodak Black, finding peace and reflection in every beat. His favorite color was black, a symbol of his style, depth, and grounded nature.
Devante's life was filled with love, purpose, and devotion. Though his time on Earth was far too short, the impact of his love and loyalty will live on forever
ln the hearts of those he leaves behind.
