Donald (Donny) Elsworth Cooper Sr.

Donald (Donny) Elsworth Cooper Sr. was born on August 26, 1948 to the late Dallas Ricks and Barbara Cooper Riggs. He was raised by his grandparents the late Robert Edward Bond and Reva Claire Bond. Donny grew up in Montgomery County Maryland where he graduated from Sherwood high and was drafted into the US Army where he served in the Vietnam War. He was well known throughout the DMV for his love of playing of music which he played in a variety of different bands.

Even though he is no longer here, Donny has left so many memories for us to hold on to. He leaves behind his children: Keith Edward Cooper, Donald (D.J.) Cooper Jr. & Elvira Kennedy, Joy Laverne Cooper-Foushee & (husband) Terrance Foushee, & Carlos Andrew Cooper & (wife) Juanita Ann Cooper. Grand children: the late Eddie (E.J.) Jeffries Jr., Donita Edwin, Tyrone & (wife) Ariel Vantrease, Diamond Cooper, Tyleasia Bass, Owen Cooper, Tyler Cooper & Tanisha Foushee; Great grandchildren: Jasmyne, Aubree, Jahi & Nova. He also leaves behind Brothers: Rodney Cooper, Gary Cooper, Shaun Riggs & Jay Riggs and sister Randy Irby & the late Leslie Cooper and slew of nieces, nephews, friends and family.

Although the sun has set on our beloved Donny Cooper, he will remain in our hearts forever and we will love him always. R.I.M. (rest in music)
