Obituary

Donna Denise Coleman Lloyd was the first daughter, and third child of Jean Smith Coleman and the late Raymond Coleman, Sr. Donna was born on October 21, 1957, in Montgomery County, MD. She peacefully departed this earthly life and transitioned to her heavenly home, on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at Northwest Hospital, with her mother, her daughter Brittany, and Reverend Terry McCain by her side.

Donna was reared in a Christian home and received her early Christian education at Hopkins United Methodist Church in Highland, MD. Her relationship with God was evident by her expressions of love for her children and grandchildren.

Donna was educated in the Howard County Public School System. She worked for the Maryland State Government before joining the United States Army in 1981. After serving in the Army in Baumholder, Germany, Donna returned to Maryland and worked for the Federal Government and began working for Howard Community College in 1990. She retired from the college in March 2021 after 31 years of dedicated service.

Donna met the love of her life, Orlando Lloyd, Sr. at Fort Sill Army Base, Lawton, Oklahoma. They were joined in marriage on September 11, 1981 in Russell County, Alabama. From this union two children were born, Orlando Arnez Lloyd and Brittany Tamara Lloyd.

Donna had many hobbies and interests. She loved painting, scrapbooking, making collages and nurturing and growing flowers. She enjoyed making arts and crafts with her granddaughters. Donna LOVED the Baltimore Ravens, and would often attend games with her daughter Brittany. She also looked forward to attending the Baltimore Ravens Annual Ladies Night, “A Purple Evening.”

Donna had a love for travelling, she had an opportunity to travel to Italy and visit for 3 weeks as a chaperone with Howard Community College. Donna traveled to Disney World at least 5 times, probably more. Some of the places she travelled to were Las Vegas, Arkansas, Illinois, New York, Tennessee, Alabama, California and several European countries.

Donna leaves to mourn her loving and devoted husband of 40 years, Orlando Lloyd, Sr., her children, Arnez and Brittany Lloyd, her loving mother, Jean Coleman, her sisters, Diane and Victoria, brothers Raymond and Anthony Coleman, one brother-in-law, Lee T. Lloyd and one sister-in-law, Beverly Ann Steadman. She also leaves behind five grandchildren that she adored; Tatyana, Mariah, Skylar, Josiah and Logan. Also cherishing her memory are two uncles, eight aunts and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Donna was predeceased by her father, Raymond Coleman, Sr., her brother Ronald Coleman, Sr., and her nephew Terrell Coleman.

Service will be lived streamed at 11:00 a.m.
