Donovan Frank Francis was born on September 30, 1989, in Silver Spring, Maryland. He was his mother Beth Annette Johnson’s only beloved child and father Frank Francis. Donovan was raised and educated in Montgomery County, Maryland, where he spent most of his life.
On Sunday, June 1, 2025, Donovan departed this life peacefully, surrounded by his loving family.
He leaves to treasure his memory two beautiful children, Dayvion Francis and Lailah Strauss, who were the lights of his life. He also leaves to cherish his memory two sisters Cheryl Francis and Latisha Francis, one brother Frank Francis Jr., two nieces, five nephews, two great nieces, four great nephews, one cousin-best friend Minyae Johnson, eleven aunts, five uncles, eleven cousins, second cousins, his Ken-Gar brothers and a host of extended family and friends.
Donovan worked with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority and later became a valued and well-loved Supervisor at Home Depot, where he built strong relationships with coworkers and customers alike.
Donovan had a special bond with his mother, who affectionately called him “Don-Boy” from childhood and never stopped. He was a family man through and through — the first to sit down at Grandma’s table on Sundays for his mother’s famous home-cooked meals and desserts. His presence filled every room with love, laughter, and unforgettable energy.
He had a deep love for animals, especially dogs, and a lifelong passion for music. If there was a mic nearby, you could count on Donovan to take it — rapping was one of his greatest joys.
Donovan’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His vibrant spirit, devotion to family, and unwavering kindness will never be forgotten.
