Edward Philip Lawlor Hunter was born in Brooklyn, New York on January 21, 1951 and passed away peacefully on Monday, August 24, 2020 at 8:20 PM in Medstar Washington Hospital Center. Edward spent his formative years with his family in Brooklyn. As an adult he became a research chemist for the N.I.S.T. in Gaithersburg, MD. He met and married his wife, Helen, in Gaithersburg. After retiring, they both relocated to Ocean Pines in Berlin, MD. His hobbies included riding his bicycle, taking long walks through the neighborhood and visiting the beach and the ocean. He enjoyed tinkering with the bicycles and on electronics. He loved to laugh, (especially at his own jokes) and eating sweets. He also believed in the spirituality of numbers. His favorite charity was St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.
He was predeceased by his parents, Terry and Mary Hunter, and two sisters, Joan Watson and Cathy Hunter. He is survived by his wife, Helen Hunter, his stepdaughter and son-in-law Christina and John Collins, his three grandchildren, Michael Priest, Jr., Jasmine and Darrick Thompson, one great-grandchild, Kayden Priest, two sisters, Liz Witten and Patty Grace, Patty's husband Bill Grace and several nieces and nephews and their families.
