Emily Dixon Obituary
In Loving Memory of Emily Dixon
Emily Dixon, the youngest daughter of Ima Christopher Blades and Ernest Fletcher, was born on February 28, 1952, in Colón, Panama, and peacefully entered eternal rest on June 21, 2026.
Emily was a woman of remarkable strength and quiet resilience. She faced life’s challenges with grace and determination, never allowing hardship to take away her kindness, faith, or love for others. She was caring, giving, and always willing to help someone in need.
Family meant everything to Emily. She loved spending time with loved ones, sharing meals, enjoying fellowship, and playing cards. Those moments brought her great joy and created memories that will live on forever.
Emily had a special love for children and served faithfully in the Children’s Ministry. She opened her heart through foster care and cared for many children throughout her life with patience, kindness, and love.
She also had a true green thumb and found peace in her plant room. She lovingly cared for her plants, often speaking to them and nurturing them with love. Many of the plants she gave to family and friends still stand strong today as living reminders of her care and lasting presence.
A devoted woman of God, Emily was a faithful member of Victory Christian Church International, where she served in the Tape Ministry and Children’s Ministry. She lived her faith through service, kindness, and compassion.
Emily shared a deep and lasting love with her beloved husband, Julio Dixon, her soulmate of more than 50 years. After his passing, she missed him dearly, and just four short months later, she was reunited with the love of her life.
Emily is survived by her son, Darrell Dixon and his spouse, Luzia; her beloved foster son, Deonta Williams; her stepson, Anthony Keith Dixon; her cherished grandchildren, Isaiah, Alisa, Isaac, Aniya, Amerie, and Arielle; her sister, Yolonda Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends in Panama, San Andrés, Colombia, and throughout the United States.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Julio Dixon, and her daughter, Melanie Dixon Streams.
Emily will be remembered for her faith, strength, generous heart, love for family, and the way she made everyone feel cared for. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her love will live on forever.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
