Enola Williams Obituary

Enola Williams was born on July 27, 1940 to the late Ernestine C. Alexander Carter and the late Ivory Williams. God called her to her heavenly home on May 6, 2023.

She was the beloved mother of four children. Mark Anthony Jolivette, Julie Angela Jolivette, Michael Angelo Williams (Trenne’ Williams), and Rebecca Anne Williams who will miss her dearly. She was also the beloved wife of the late Albert Jules Jolivette, Jr.

Enola (Nanny) was a doting grandmother to Markisha Nicole Harris Wilson, Zharia, Jonne’ Williams, Zackary Michael Williams, and Zavien James-Ivory Williams. In addition to her grandchildren, she was the great-grandmother to Kelly Terell Wilson and Mikayla Na’Kisha Wilson.

She was the sister of the late James Edward Hastings, Jr., Dolores Rose Carter, the late Carol Ann Carter, the late Glyndell Louise Carter, Odelia Lee Carter, Sonja Teresa Carter, Clifford Joseph Carter, Jr., Peter Virgil Carter, the late Kim Ladonna Carter, the late Cynthia Marie Carter, and the late Ernestine Juliette Carter. She was the stepdaughter of the late Clifford Joseph Carter, Sr.

At the time of her passing, Enola lived in Rockville, Maryland for the past nine years. She was a native of Jeanerette, Louisiana and lived most of her life in New Orleans, Louisiana. Before moving to Maryland, she lived in Riverdale, Georgia.

In addition to family previously mentioned, Enola is also survived by her beloved cousin Marva C. Johnson, her ‘other daughter’ Tanya Crump, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and other relatives, the residents of Victory Court in Rockville, Maryland, Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary Court #60 and friends of Corpus Chris; Catholic Church in New Orleans, Louisiana.
