Estella Chin fondly known as Miss Stella was a native of Seaforth, Jamaica. She was born on March 31, 1924, to Gertrude Young and Uriah Chin. In Jamaica, she ran her own retail business until she left to come to the United States to assist her daughter (Sonja) and son-in-law (Henry) in caring for their two sons. She spent half her life the United States with them.
Miss Stella was a religious, caring, and soft-spoken person who greeted everyone with a smile and kind words. Her warm demeanor made everyone she met feel welcomed and comfortable. She read her bible and prayed every day. Miss Stella instilled that in all her children. She loved to listen to soft, melodical music. She left this world on Saturday, December 25, 2021 at 10:22 p.m. She was 97 years old.
To mourn her loss are her daughters Sonja Hailstock, Sheila Lue and Norma Chong; son Errol Leslie; sons-in-law Henry, Winston and Cleve; a host of grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
COVID PROTOCOL: The number of persons that will be able to attend the funeral service is limited. Please check with the family before coming to the service. Masks are required. Each adult will need to sign a COVID Waiver Form affirming they have not had any COVID related symptoms or been in contact with anyone with COVID in the last 2 weeks.
