Filomemo P. Ricamata, 83, passed away peacefully at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, Maryland on Friday, January 14, 2022.
“Fil” or “Pilo” as known to many was born on November 29, 1938, in Santa Cruz Marinduque, Philippines, to Severino and Enrica Ricamata. He lived mostly in Makati, Philippines until he emigrated to Maryland, USA in 1991 to join his wife Purita.
Fil is a very talented professional tailor who started his career at a young age in Manila Philippines. In the early 70’s, he established his own tailoring shop “The Topnotcher” in Manila. By late 70’s, he moved to Makati and continued his tailoring business. When he migrated to the US, he worked many years at Everett Hall Boutique in Chevy Chase, MD and taught a tailoring class briefly at G Street Fabrics in Rockville, MD.
Fil is a very kind, loving, generous husband and father. He is called “Tatay” by his family. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Purita, son Edwin and daughter-in-law Vangie and their daughters Roxanne and Reggie, daughter Susan and son-in-law Archie and their son Francis and numerous relatives in the USA and the Philippines.
Our family will draw strength from his many wonderful and loving memories. Though you left a void in our lives, you will always be in our hearts, Tatay.
We pray that God will comfort our sorrow now that you are with Him.
