Gary Yeisley Obituary

Gary Daniel Yeisley, of New Market, Maryland, passed away at age 41 on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Frederick Health Hospital in Frederick, MD.  He was born on September 30, 1982, in Washington, D.C., to Richard and Valerie Yeisley.  Gary will be remembered and missed by many for his kindness, bright and jovial personality, and passion for spirited debate.

To know Gary was to know what an avid sports enthusiast he was.  His unwavering love of sports began early, as he played youth soccer and baseball for several clubs growing up, and then continued as a member of the soccer and baseball teams at Quince Orchard High School.  Gary was a proud alumnus of the University of Delaware, where he played club soccer (and even had a short stint as a member of the Blue Hens Cheer Team). The connections he made through sports led to many lifelong friendships.  He passionately rooted for the Buffalo Bills, Arsenal FC, New York Yankees, and Washington Nationals.

Following college, Gary began a successful and rewarding 20-year career in Finance within the hospitality industry, working in various hotels for Marriott International, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, and most recently with Hyatt Hotels, where he served as the Area Director of Finance for the Hyatt Grand Central New York and Park South Hotel.  Gary was a mentor to many throughout his career, and leaves behind many treasured colleagues.

It was while working for Marriott that Gary met his wife, Emily.  They married in 2011 in Baltimore, MD.  Gary and Emily enjoyed traveling, attending sporting events, and visiting local wineries before welcoming their first son, Nathan, in 2014.  In 2019 they welcomed their second son, Connor.  Gary was a devoted and loving father to Nathan and Connor.  He shared his passion for music and sports with them, even passing on his love of the Buffalo Bills and Arsenal FC.  His memory will live on through them.

Gary is predeceased by his beloved brother, Steven Yeisley (2018).  He is survived by Emily Ouellette Yeisley, and their two sons, Nathan and Connor; parents Richard and Valerie; sister Karen Yeisley Quispe (Eddy) and nieces and nephew Caroline, Anthony, and Vanessa; uncles and aunts Joseph and Nadine Baskerville and Norman and Gail Yeisley Diefenderfer; Emily’s family, James and Deborah Ouellette, Jennifer Ouellette and Paul Matsui; and many other extended family and friends.

Services for Gary will be held on Monday, July 8 at Fairhaven United Methodist Church.  The viewing will begin at 10AM, followed by the funeral service at 11AM.
