Gheorghe Bejenari, known by many as “George,” passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at his home in Rockville, Maryland at the age of 76.
Mr. Bejenari completed his studies in Electrical Engineering and Agricultural Biological Engineering at the Technical University of Moldova. He later earned his Ph.D. degree from the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, where his research focused on the development and implementation of equipment for the electrical handling of biological subjects with living cells.
During his distinguished professional career, Mr. Bejenari served as a Professor of Electrical Engineering at both the Technical University of Moldova and the State Agrarian University of Moldova. As part of his academic and scientific work, he participated in research projects at the University of Tokyo and the Moscow University of Agricultural Engineering. He held several patents and authored books in the field of electrical engineering.
After relocating to the Washington, DC area with his family over 25 years ago, Mr. Bejenari continued his professional work in electrical design and estimation.
George will be remembered for his intellect, dedication to education, and deep devotion to his family.
In addition to his beloved wife, Tatiana, Mr. Bejenari is survived by his children, Lilia and Natalia; his son-in-law, Alexander; and his three cherished grandchildren, Anthony, Victoria, and Gerry.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026.
