James “Jimmy” Grafton Moten, Jr., was born on November 27, 1954, and raised in Lincoln Park, Rockville, Maryland. Jimmy graduated from Richard Montgomery High School in 1973, worked as a mechanic for Montgomery County for over 30 years, and was an original member of the Great and Respectable Black Organization, better known as G.A.R.B.O.


Jimmy was preceded in death by his father James “Peter” Grafton Moten, Sr. He is survived by his mother Annarose Moten, 2 children, 4 siblings, 5 grandchildren, an aunt, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Along with family, Jimmy is mourned by loving friends whom he recognized as family.
