Jane Hood Simms

Jane Hood Simms of Brookeville, Maryland, wife of George E. Simms Jr., passed quietly in their home, on December 13, 2025.  Jane was born on January 17, 1928.  Jane and George recently celebrated 70 years of marriage.  Jane leaves behind her husband, 5 children, 13 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. 

On Monday, December 22, 2025, Jane Hood Simms was laid to rest, at Mutual Memorial Cemetery, Sandy Spring, Md., beside her beloved parents, William Arthur and Eleanora Marshall Hood. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 1 PM, at Sharp Street United Methodist Church, 1310 Olney-Sandy Spring Road, Sandy Spring, Maryland 20860.
