Kimothy Wilson Obituary
On Friday, May 15, 2026, Kimothy (Kim) Wilson Sr. of Rockville, Maryland, went on to be with the Lord. Kim was born on May 26, 1954, in Rockville. He grew up there and received his education through the Montgomery County Public Schools system. He later enlisted in the United States Army, serving in both Germany and Houston, Texas. Later in life, he enjoyed a long career in logistics and warehouse operations, ultimately retiring from T.W. Perry.
Kim, a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and faithful servant of God, passed away surrounded by the family he cherished so deeply. His life was a beautiful reflection of love, faith, purpose and redemption and anyone who ever met him knew immediately that he was someone special.
Kim was charismatic in a way that couldn’t be taught. He had a presence that filled every room he walked into—warm, magnetic, and full of life. People were naturally drawn to him, not just because of his humor or his stories, but because he made everyone feel seen, valued, and welcomed. His smile, his laugh, and his energy were unforgettable.
Kim lived a life rich with adventure and meaning. He loved his family fiercely, his wife, his children, his grandchildren, and his extended family were the heartbeat of his world. He poured his love into them daily, guiding them with wisdom, protecting them with strength, and uplifting them with a love that never wavered.
Kim loved the Lord with all his heart. His faith was the foundation of his life, and he lived it boldly. He even served as a pastor for a time, leading his own church and shepherding others toward God with compassion, humility, and conviction. Through his ministry, he led countless people to Christ including his own children and grandchildren, who carry his spiritual legacy forward with pride.
He lived a deeply fulfilling, modest life full of stories, adventures, accomplishments, and unforgettable moments. Kim embraced life with courage and curiosity, always willing to try something new, meet someone new, or take on a new challenge. His life was full, vibrant, and uniquely his own.
Above all, Kim will be remembered for his generous heart, unwavering loyalty, joyful spirit, and a life overflowing with love. He was the kind of man who showed up, who prayed for you, who believed in you, and who made you feel like you mattered.
Kim is now reunited in glory with his cherished wife, Karen Wilson, who went home to be with the Lord before him. Their love and faith carried them through life, and now they rest together in God’s presence.
He was the proud father of six children: three with his beloved wife Karen - Tara (Jay) Phillips, Tiffany Phillips, and Kimothy (Shawnta) Wilson Jr.; two with his former wife Nancy Prestemon - Teresa Williams and Anne Helene (Oystein Drivflaadt) Kvamme Wilson Prestemon; and one with his former wife Janet Lambert - Christopher (Andrea) Wilson. His children and grandchildren were his greatest joy, and he loved each of them deeply.
Cherished son of the late Julia Cross and the late Charles Wilson, he was the loving grandfather of Alexander (Alex) Kvamme; Nicole (Timothy) Olaniyi; Varg Wilson Prestemon; Zoe Phillips; Sarah Williams; Hannah Rose Williams; Joshua Phillips Jr.; John (Tre) Phillips III; Sidney (Wil) Williams III; Teagan Phillips; Chloe Phillips; Savannah Wilson; Kimothy (Juju) Wilson III; Koby Wilson; Elias Wilson; Kylo Wilson; Elliana Wilson; and Skye Wilson; and the proud great grandfather of Eden Gaddis.
He was the beloved brother of the late Ernest (late Rosalee) Cross, the late Charles (Geraldine) Wilson, the late Annie Mae (late Joe) Alford, the late Mike (Dolly) Wilson, Rose Prather, Jackie Lucas, the late Kenny (Rita) Wilson, the late Jennifer Palmer, the late Leslie Redman, the late Kathy Palmer, Rosemary Harmon, the late Lillie Mae Chambers, and the late Fred Palmer.
Kim is also survived by many other loving relatives and friends.
