Larry Wendell Budd, son of the late Norman and Ada Budd, was born on August 28, 1957, at Montgomery General Hospital in Olney, MD. He departed this life on Monday, July 29, 2024, at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, MD.
Larry was educated in the Montgomery County Public School system and was employed for many years by the Vitro Corporation. Most recently, he was employed by CER Lawn & Landscaping. Larry was particularly proud of his landscaping workmanship, he worked hard on both his private residence clients and at the FedEx Field Stadium. Larry was a devoted Washington Redskins/Commanders fan. He enjoyed attending many games and tailgate parties with his co-workers.
His hobbies included collecting model racing cars (Dale Earnhardt), watching football and basketball, and watching Westerns and old movies with his sister, Emma. Larry also enjoyed cooking; his specialty was frying fish for family functions and for the Good Friday fish fry’s at Sharp Street United Methodist Church, in Olney, MD. Larry had a charismatic personality, and most children adored his playful spirit. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was dearly loved by his family and close friends. He will be greatly missed!
He leaves to cherish his memory: a daughter, Latoya Herbert; his grandson, Kevontae Herbert; 2 beloved sisters, Emma Budd and Barbara Lee; 2 nephews, Rob (Boo) Lee and Rick Cook; a devoted friend, Michael Wood; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members and friends.
