Linda McGraw Obituary

Linda Joyce McGraw, age 66 of Germantown Maryland was welcomed home by the Lord Jesus Christ at 2:30am, Friday, April 8, 2022 in the comfort of her home.

She was born January 28th 1956 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of the late Betty Elizabeth Poole Adams and William Richards (Biological Father), and John Adams (Stepfather, who she considered her father as he had raised her).

At age 5, Linda saw a photo of Darryl McGraw and claimed him stating “That’s going to be my husband!” Later at age 15, in homeroom Darryl had his eyes gazed on Linda and stated to her, “You’re going to be my girl!”

Linda played hard to get, but eventually accepted his request to be his girl. They married in 1972 and she went on to accompany him in traveling the world as he served in the US Army and raised three children.

She served more than 20 years as a Security Officer in the Federal government and happily retired in 2014. She loved retirement and being protective of her husband and children, often referring to herself as “Mama Bear”.

This amazingly beautiful Woman of God and First Lady was a gift to all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her. She had a genuinely loving and gentle spirit coupled with an indescribable wisdom that instantly drew you to her.

She was a powerful praying intercessor for others and loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ to the fullest. When she spoke, her grace and calm soothing voice, had a way of lifting up others and brighten their day.

She will be greatly missed and is survived by her soul mate, best friend, protector, and husband of more than 49 years, Pastor Darryl S. McGraw, her children, Marie McGraw, Darrell McGraw (Mimi McGraw) and Danielle McGraw; her two grandchildren, Maya McGraw and Arianna McGraw; her brothers, William (Carol) Richards, George (Jennifer) Richards, Ronald (Shirley) Richards, and Dennis (Petra) Richards; her Heritage of Hope Christian Church Family, and the many nieces and nephews who loved her.

Preceding her in death are her parents; her sisters Ruth Ann Harris and Elizabeth Landon; and five brothers, Jimmy Parker, John Richards, David Richards, Robert Richards, Danny Richards.

We miss and love you dearly. May your life continue to shine through your family.
