Major Lonnie Patrick Williams, U.S. Retired, Special Forces, Green Beret, was born June 5, 1939 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He has been called to his restful place of glory with his angelic wings. He was born to the late Moses Studivant and Hassie Williams. He was a loving and caring brother to his sister, Ann. He received his education in the Philadelphia School System and graduated from Germantown High School. In addition, to receiving his degree from Central State University and served as a Professor at Youngstown State University.
Lonnie has served in the United States Army for 18 years and had received numerous medals, and has ranked as Major serving in World War II. He has visited many countries around the world. After his retirement from the military, he moved to the Washington Metropolitan area where he worked at the Naval Medical Center, in which he loved.
Lonnie enjoyed going to the movies, listening to his favorite music, and cooking. He enjoyed talking and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Lonnie was proceeded in death by his beloved, Marjorie (Margie) and son, Stephen. He leaves to carry on his memories: his daughters, Sandra, Deborah, Lynn and Kai. His daughter-in-law, Felicia; one sister, Ann; his grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Dad - Pop Pop - we will always remember coming to your house and we would have to stop and listen to your war stories over and over again, oh how we wish we could hear just one more! And, as the you would play the same song over and over again and Mom would yell, Lonnie, please turn the volume down!
You taught us well and we will never forget about you. You gave us a life that we will never forget. You laid down a firm foundation of strength for all of us and you will be greatly missed.
We will Remember all your names: Pop Pop, Pops and Cochise.
DAD - You were a strong, brave man until the end and we will live for you!
