Lynda Joyce Nusser

September 21, 1952 – April 14, 2026

Lynda Joyce (Willette) Nusser, 73, gently passed away in her sleep on April 14, 2026, at her home in Rockville, Maryland.

Lynda was born September 21, 1952, in Bethesda, Maryland, the daughter of Donald Clifton and Margaret Joan (McCoy) Willette.  She graduated from Robert E. Peary High School in Rockville in 1970.  For 27 years, she worked for the Montgomery County Government as Office Services Coordinator, retiring in 2025.

Lynda’s lifelong hobbies included handcrafting beaded jewelry, for which she has won several awards, playing board games, which she enjoyed weekly with family and friends, and traveling to experience nature and to visit friends and relatives, with whom she shared many adventures.

Lynda will be especially remembered in the substance abuse recovery community.  She celebrated 37 years of active recovery and service in Alcoholics Anonymous on March 12, 2026.  Through that program, she has touched many lives, as many have also touched hers.

Lynda was preceded in death by her parents and her youngest sister, Donna Erman (f. Kiernan).  She is survived by her four children, Wil, Gerald (Colleen), Sheryl (Erik), and Mike (Jenn) Nusser; sisters Peggy (Dave) Rice and Kathi (Alan) Heintzelman; brother Richard (Emily) Willette, and six nieces and nephews.  She also leaves behind two beloved dogs, Abby and Pibble.

Visitation and Celebration of Life will be at Snowden Funeral Home in Rockville on April 23, 2026, from 4:30–8:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Mountain Manor Treatment Center ℅ Potomac Healthcare in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
