Malcolm Daniel McLaughlin
With deep sorrow and cherished memories, we announce the passing of Malcolm Daniel McLaughlin, age 66, who departed this life on July 24, 2025, in Washington, D.C. Born on December 16, 1958, in Lawton, Oklahoma, Malcolm was the beloved son of Joseph Franklin McLaughlin and Shirley Temple Moore. Malcolm will be remembered as a charismatic and impeccably dressed gentleman, known for his sharp wit, unwavering loyalty, and vibrant personality. A lover of fashion and flair, he carried himself with style and confidence. His magnetic presence drew people to him effortlessly earning him the nickname “the pied piper” among friends. Malcolm’s love for the holiday season reflected his devotion to family, as it was his favorite time to gather with loved ones.
A believer in the power of true friendship, Malcolm lived by the words of Thomas Aquinas: “There is nothing on this earth more to be prized than true friendship.” He had a generous spirit and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Much like his grandfather, Marvin Moore, Malcolm had a way of knowing someone everywhere he went. Though his travels took him far and wide, his heart always belonged to New York City.
Professionally, Malcolm excelled as an Operations Manager at FedEx Corporation, where he served faithfully for over 20 years. He was a proud alumnus of Denver East High School (Class of 1978) and San Francisco State University. He had a deep appreciation for jazz music, played the trumpet, enjoyed traveling the world, and loved the game of basketball. Malcolm is survived by his devoted mother, Shirley Temple McLaughlin, and his loving siblings: Timothy Damien McLaughlin, Joseph Franklin McLaughlin II, Sharon Barrant, and Icelia Fedd. He also leaves behind his cherished nieces and nephews: Malcolm Barrant, Justin McLaughlin, Joah McLaughlin, Michael Fedd, II., Micah Fedd, and Mi’Kayla Fedd; as well as brothers-in-law Dr. Michael A. Fedd, Sr., and Winston Barrant.
A memorial service to celebrate Malcolm’s life will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 11:00 AM in Laurel Hill, Florida.
