Marlene Entzminger Obituary

Marlene Dunmore Entzminger, was born December 13, 1955, to the late Donald M. Dunmore and Mary L. Dunmore-Brodie in Washington, District of Columbia. To this union, four children were born, and Marlene was the second child.

Marlene loved the Lord and accepted Christ in her life at an early age. She attended various churches in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. She later joined Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in November of 2010. She enjoyed working with the Women’s ministry and serving as a Senior Usher. You could find her in the back right pew of the church with her grandson, Sa’von. She loved to fellowship with friends, church family over a wonderful meal.

Marlene attended public schools in Washington, DC and later went on to Secretarial school in Washington, DC. Marlene was a hard worker and worked at Comcast and Howard University Hospital.

Marlene loved her children and grandchildren. She adored spending time with her children and grandchildren. She could be heard telling her daughter to leave my grandbabies here with me for the weekend. She loved plants and had a green thumb. She had a forest of plants in her home. One of her favorite pastimes was having great conversations with friends and family over a great meal and watching Nigerian movies.  She could often be found at Golden Coral after church with family and friends. She was a very kindhearted and loving person, and never wanted to put her burdens on anyone.

On September 7, 2021, God called Marlene to take her rest and join her parents. She leaves to cherish her memory: a son, Troy Entzminger, a daughter, Matovia Dunmore; three sisters, Donna Harris, Carolyn Rice, and Valerie Dunmore; grandchildren, Alexis, Sa’von and  Jabria; nephew, Marcell; nieces Yasmin, Rachel, Nicole,  Ige, and Paige; and a host of loving relatives, family, friends and colleagues.
