Mary Caroline Colletti

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Caroline Colletti, aged 74, who died in her home in Rockville, MD, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, courage, and unyielding dedication to justice.

Born in St Louis, MO in 1951, Mary Caroline spent her life not only witnessing change, but driving it. A lifelong advocate for the marginalized and underserved, she committed her heart and energy to causes that sought to lift others up and speak truth to power. Mary Caroline lived her values with conviction, and was known for her fierce intellect, wry sense of humor, and an unwavering moral compass. She was a devoted member of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Rockville, Maryland, active in the Senior Center and many other communities in and around Rockville. 

Preceded in death by her parents Vincent and Dorothy Colletti, she is survived by her three siblings Antoinette (Toni), Vincent Gregory, and Robert (Bob) Colletti, and by nephew Vincent Joseph Colletti and nieces Amanda Colletti, Andrea Glogovac, Sarah Columbo, and Danielle Colletti, as well as a wide network of friends, colleagues, and community members who will carry forward her mission and memory.

Mary's legacy is a call to action; a reminder that one voice, guided by conscience, can help bend the arc of the moral universe a little closer to justice. May she rest in peace, and may we honor her by continuing her work.

A memorial service will be held at 4pm on Sunday, July 13 at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Rockville (UUCR).
