Musse Belete "Moe" Obituary

It is with profound sadness that the family of Musse "Moe" Demisse Belete, announces his sudden passing at the young age of 36. He lost his courageous battle on December 29th, 2021, in Washington, DC after being fatally wounded.

Musse was predeceased by his father, Demiss Belete, as well as his uncles, Tamirat and Fekade. He is survived by his son, Eyoel, his mother, Mrs. Aynalem Tadesse, his adoptive mother, Mrs. Rosette Randrianasolo, his grandmother, Mrs. Asamenech Yimam (Emeteye), his sister, Zema, his brothers, Mnelik and Gelawdios, his many nephews and nieces, several cousins, and his large extended family.

Musse was born on August 4, 1984, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He was the beloved son to renowned Ethiopian journalist, Demiss Belete and Mrs. Aynalem Tadesse. As he was affectionately called, "Moe", attended Atse Naud Elementary and Meskaye Hezunan Jr. Secondary School in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. In 1999, he moved to the United States.

There, he started living with his late father Demiss Belete, who was married to Musse's adoptive mother, Mrs. Rosette Randrianasolo. Mrs. Randianasolo lovingly raised Musse as her own son. In the U.S, he attended Einstein and Wheaton high schools in Silver Spring, Maryland - where he would receive his high school diploma. After graduating from high school, Musse worked for many establishments in Washington, DC, Baltimore, MD, Las Vegas, NV, and Columbus, OH.

In 2004, Musse became a father. He welcomed his son into this world, naming him Eyoel Musse Tullu.

Musse was a fun-loving, caring, and friendly person. Musse was very active within his community of friends in both the Washington and Baltimore areas, where he lived for more than 20 years. Amongst other activities, he had a love and enjoyment for music. However, family and friends were Musse's true passion and delight in life.

The family would like to extend their appreciation and gratitude to all those who comforted them at the time of Musse's sudden departure.
