Naomi Wilson Obituary

Deaconess Naomi Mccutchen Wilson, beloved daughter of the late Sam and Lottie Mccutchen, was born on April 22, 1931, in Bishopville, South Carolina. On Thursday, November, 5, 2020, God, before calling home, allowed her to breathe her last breath; to whisper a name on her final earthly journey.

Naomi received her education in Bishopville, South Carolina. She was joined in Holy Matrimony to her late husband, Trustee James M. Wilson, and were in union for over 33 years. They were blessed by God to have born four sons: James, Johnny, Alonzo and Samuel and six daughters: Dorothy, Annie, Shirley, Anna, Delores and Denice and adopted a son: Frank Mahammad and many others.

Naomi and James moved their family to Washington, D.C. and began her career as a Baker/ Cook in the D.C. Public School in 1972 and retired in April 1992.

Naomi accepted the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at a very early age. She was a faithful and dedicated member at Third Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. Although she bore the title Deaconess at Third Baptist Church in Washington, D.C., she was God's faithful and dedicated "servant" throughout her life. She was a "Prayer Warrior and Intercessory". She served in various ministries and was always  there  to lend a helping hand to those who need it.

She was a loving, caring, kind and affectionate person. She said what she meant, and she meant what she said! And one of the ways we would know she meant business was by the look on her face. She not only loved her family and her church family, but she loved and welcomed all.  To many she was know as  the one who would always give, not a pat on the back, but a "bear hugs that would break your back". Everywhere she went she preached Jesus Christ. She not only preached it with her words, she lived it with her life. She was a devoted mother, wife, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who put the needs of others before herself.

Naomi is survived by three daughters: Annie Wilson-Greene (Lawrence), Anna Sanders (Charles) and Denice Wilson; four sons: James Wilson (Lynn), Alonzo Wilson (Sandra), Samuel Wilson, Jo hnny Cooke (Mary) and Frank Mahammad; Twenty-seven grandchildren: Anthony Wilson, Duane Hill, Chanitha McRae , Shanelle Johnson, Marcus Malloy, Christopher Wilson, Alonshanaie Wilson, Alsandra Wilson, Charles Sanders II, Delonta Wilson, Jeremy Malloy, Lachanlia Wilson, Lonzo Wilson, Anita Wilson, Kimberlee Wilson, Natasha Fonville, Anjanee Sanders, Taurus Wilson, DeAndre' Wilson, Shawn Wilson, Erica Wilson, Veronica Dowery, Johnny Cooke Jr, Myra Cooke, Corey Faison, Frank Faison, Letitia Faison; over 40 great-grand-children; nine great-great-grandchildren; two sisters : Janie M. Hudson and Eartha Silveira; two sisters-in-law: Amy Yates and Janet Mccutchen; two brothers-in-law: Leroy Hudson and Bubba Montgomery, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
