Queen Nina Jean Jackson, 73 born in Salisbury, Md., departed this life on August 24, 2021 at Collingswood Rehab and Nursing Center. Born in Wicomico County, city of Salisbury, Md., she was the daughter of Bishop Roscoe Johnson and Sarah Johnson.
Nina Jackson was a kind, supportive, loving woman. Her wisdom about natural herbs is something she loved to share with others. Nina loved plants. Nina would have plants in her home and would play music and sing to them. Nina had a name for all of her plants. Nina would say that the plants were her children. Nina loved to create her own facial scrubs, hair conditioners, and herbal teas using all natural ingredients. One day Nina obtained a bald spot in the back of her head, due to an accident by a hairdresser at a beauty salon.
For over 13 years no hair ever grew in that spot. One day, Nina decided to make her own hair conditioner. Every day Nina would rub her mixture on her bald spot and pray. Several years would go by and nothing grew. Then one day Nina comes out of her bathroom and says, "Look, my hair is growing back." Nina also graduated as a Medical Assistant while living in Georgia. Her strong faith in God was present everyday of her life. She was also a First Lady, being a Pastor's wife to retired LTC Chaplain Charles E. Jackson, for 27 years of marriage. She never smoked or drank alcoholic beverages. And loved to take long walks. She loved life to the fullest. And she had an opportunity to travel all over the world.
She is survived by her son, Gabriel Jackson of Baltimore, MD; daughters, Trena Stephenson of Baltimore, MD and Prina Jackson of White Oak, MD; sister, Regina Holmes of Salisbury, MD; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a host of nephews, nieces, and many friends.
