Noel Marie Mangum

NOEL MARIE MANGUM was born in the District of Colombia on 24 December 1955. She was the youngest daughter of the late Joseph I. Dorsey and the late Nancy V. Dorsey. She returned to be with her heavenly father on May 10, 2023.

Noel was raised in Montgomery County, Maryland, where she attended public school and graduated from Rockville High School.

In 1991, She married the love of her life Leonardo “Leo” Mangum, in Rockville, Maryland. They were part of each other's lives from then until her passing. Leonardo had one child; Michelle “Chelle” Anderson whom with much excitement became Noel’s “Bonus Daughter”. Noel was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend.

She joined the Montgomery County Police Department in 1976. She started her career as a longtime PSA at 4D and 1D; she worked at ECC and Abandoned Auto. She served the Department for 36 years. In 2012, she retired from her work force family.

Noel will always be remembered as a fun-loving, compassionate, caring person who loved unconditionally. She enjoyed having her date nights with family members, watching cooking shows, the Isley Brothers, fast cars, and most of all spending time with her family and friends.

Noel was proceeded in death by her parents, Joseph and Nancy Dorsey and one sister, Patricia Nolan. She leaves to cherish her memories her husband Leonardo Mangum; one daughter Michelle Anderson, two grandchildren; Jordan Anderson and Jayden Lawson; two brothers, Edward Nolan (Wendy), and Larry Smith; three nieces, Elissha Whitfield (Bashshar), Anita Odemene (Arthur), and Vanessa Barnes (Marcus); three grandnephews, Jeremiah Castillo, Tyrell Nolan, and Jacob Whitfield; and one grandniece, Amara Odemene; and best friend Peggy Lyles and a host of relatives and friends.
