January 28, 1963 ~ December 27, 2020 (age 57)

Patricia Lynne Hopkins was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on January 28, 1963 to the late Isabelle Rideout and John Rideout, in a loving home of seven children.

Raised and educated in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Patricia received her high school diploma in 1980 from Penn Hills Senior High. She continued her education at Pittsburgh Beauty Academy where she received her cosmetology license.

Patricia’s first child, Sean Rideout was born on September 30, 1986. She furthered her education at Community College of Allegheny County where she received her associate’s degree in business. Patricia became one of the first Black female entrepreneurs in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as the co-owner of a barbershop, The Sixth Street Shop, until 1988.

She met and married her husband, John Hopkins, in Woodbridge, Virginia. The union between Patricia and John yielded a blended family of three children and eight grandchildren.

In 1995, Patricia moved to the Montgomery County area and resided in Gaithersburg, Maryland with her family, where she would go on to explore several passions - her family, her cooking, and helping others. Patricia was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed teaching others how to do hair, tutoring children, and made a career out of training others on computer software applications.
