Early Life and Family

Paulette Teresa Williams, affectionately known as “Lady” was born on January 17, 1947, in Washington, D.C., to Lottie Wise. As the second eldest of seven siblings, Lady grew up surrounded by family, friends and a loving grandmother.  

Paulette Teresa Williams was born into a family, where the values of love, perseverance, and togetherness were instilled from an early age. Raised with strong family traditions, she grew up surrounded by encouragement and support, forming the foundation for the caring and resilient woman she would become.

Her childhood was spent in the close-knit community of Lyttonsville (Linden) in Silver Spring, Maryland, located in Montgomery County. Her upbringing played a significant role in shaping her values and character.

Education and Career

 Lady graduated from Montgomery Blair High School. Shortly after, driven by a passion for beauty and service, she pursued further studies at La Wonda Beauty School, earning her cosmetology license in 1966. After achieving this milestone, Lady embarked on a notable career at the Chesapeake and Potomac (C&P) Telephone Company. Through dedication and perseverance, she built a professional legacy, working diligently for over 30 years until her well-earned retirement in the year 2000.

Motherhood and Grandmotherhood

In 1986, Lady welcomed her daughter Starla, embracing motherhood with unwavering love and commitment. Her family grew further with the arrival of her beloved grandchildren, Genesis in 2006 and Justice in 2011. Lady’s nurturing spirit and unwavering devotion to her family have been central to her life’s journey, and she takes immense pride in her roles as both mother and grandmother.

A Place to Call Home

Paulette achieved a significant personal milestone by purchasing her forever home in Bowie, Maryland. This home became a cherished sanctuary, where she resided with her late mother, Lottie Wise, and her daughter, Starla. It stands as a testament to Paulette’s commitment to providing stability and love for her family, serving as a gathering place filled with memories and warmth.

Legacy

Paulette was also known for her generous spirit and her caring nature. Friends and family can often recall her willingness to lend a helping hand or offer her home as a place of refuge in times of need. Her home was always open to gatherings, celebrations, and moments of support, strengthening the bonds within her family.

Lady inherited a green thumb from her grandmother, Frances, who cultivated both a vegetable and a flower garden. Inspired by this legacy, Lady developed her own love for gardening, tending to plants with care and dedication. She was also an avid reader of and found joy in sewing and crocheting. She amassed an impressive collection of blankets and pillows that she delighted in gifting to loved ones for Christmas and birthdays. Her creativity was matched by her curiosity; as a history buff, she appreciated unique pieces of the past and researched the rich stories they preserved.

Lady’s caring nature touched countless lives. She especially loved to spoil her grandchildren, Genesis and Justice, eagerly anticipating Christmas shopping and sending large boxes filled with trinkets, toys, and special finds. Paulette Teresa Williams life reflects a remarkable journey of hard work, dedication, and deep familial love. Her accomplishments, both personal and professional, continue to inspire her family and all who know her. She is celebrated for her resilience, kindness, and the enduring legacy she has created for future generations. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
