Randy C. Carter, 62, of Garwood, NJ, unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, October 22, in Gaithersburg, MD. He was born on January 12, 1963, in Mocksville, NC, to the late Howard F. and Dema Bowles Carter.
Randy graduated from Appalachian State University and dedicated forty years to working in the technology industry. At the time of his passing, he was employed by Pratum Companies – Management Corporation of Maryland. He ran his own technology company for several years, which led him to work at GE and travel around the world. He enjoyed football, baseball, and various sports, and he had a deep love for his dogs.
Randy was a devoted son, brother, friend, and husband. He cared for his mother until her passing, showing unwavering loyalty and support for 39 years. His remarkable character earned him respect and devotion from everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sara Tapia-Carter; his sister, Patsy McClure (NC); his brother, Fred Carter (NC); his sister, Janet Hunolt (NC); two stepchildren, Leo Xanthakos (NJ) and Ketoula Xanthakos (NJ); ten nieces and nephews, and many friends and extended family.

Randy was a longtime member of Dulin Church. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on November 7, 2025, at Dulin Church, 897 Dulin Rd, Mocksville, NC.
