Raymond Campbell Obituary

Raymond Alan Campbell, affectionately known as "Jimmy" to all who knew and loved him, passed away peacefully in Rockville, Maryland, on November 6, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on July 9, 1951, in New Rochelle, New York, Jimmy was a cherished son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Jimmy dedicated many years of his professional life to the Florida Division of Motor Vehicles, where his commitment and work ethic left a lasting impression on colleagues and friends alike. Beyond his professional life, Jimmy was a man of varied interests and passions. He found great joy in attending concerts and was an avid listener of jazz music—a genre that brought him peace and inspiration. A true lover of films, he relished time spent watching movies, always ready to share and discuss his latest cinematic discoveries with family and friends.

A culinary enthusiast, Jimmy took pleasure in preparing healthy meals, nurturing those he loved through his cooking. However, his greatest joy came from spending quality time with his beloved wife Pearl, their children, and grandchildren. His family was his pride and joy, and his love for them was boundless.

Jimmy's life was a testament to the enduring power of love and dedication. His kindness, humor, and gentle spirit earned him the titles of "Best Grandpa," "Best Husband," "Best Father," and "Best Father-in-law," honors he carried with great pride.

He is preceded in death by his loving mother, Dolores Campbell, and his brother, Bobby Campbell. Jimmy leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his devoted wife of 45 years, Pearl Patterson Campbell, and his father, John Campbell. He is also survived by his siblings, Linda Campbell, Cheryl Campbell, and Reginald Campbell; his children, Jamal Campbell and his wife Hellena Nel Campbell, Rasheeda Campbell, and Jamillah Green. His beloved grandchildren, Zuri Campbell and Jabari Campbell, will forever hold their grandfather in their hearts.

The impact of Jimmy's life will be felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be remembered not only for his accomplishments but for the warmth, love, and laughter he shared with everyone around him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
