Rhonda Austin was born on October 22, 1958, in Washington, D.C. to Willie James Austin and Myrtis Austin. The Holy Spirit beckoned her home, releasing her from all physical limitations and pain for an eternal life.
Rhonda was a product of the District of Columbia Public Schools, she attended Takoma Elementary, Paul Junior High, and Calvin Coolidge High. Graduating in 1977. She initially started her college career at Bowie State, but eventually went on to graduate from Strayer University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and later receiving a Masters of Business Administration. She spent her professional career working for the federal government and most recently was employed with FEMA before taking an early retirement to focus on her health.
Family meant everything to Rhonda and she cherished spending time with loved ones, whether it was enjoying a meal, watching her favorite Tyler Perry shows, or laughing at the craziness on her daytime talk shows. Rhonda also relished her quiet time, whether it was enjoying her puzzles, reading, or taking a relaxing walk and enjoying a bit of fresh air.
One of her greatest pleasures was going out to eat, especially when seafood was on the menu. She absolutely loved crab cakes and never turned down a good seafood dinner. Christmas was her favorite holiday, and she just loved everything about that festive time of year from the beautiful lights to the joyful music and being surrounded by family and friends.
She was preceded in death by both parents as well as her sisters baby Glenis, Holly, and Jacqueline. She is also survived by her siblings Harriet Austin-Stewart; Sandra Austin; James Austin; Kathy Austin; Keith Austin; niece, Veronica Austin, cousins, and friends.
