Richard Warren Wallace, eldest son of the late Ruth Wilson and Othello Wallace, husband to the late Lillian Snowden Wallace, departed this life on May 24, 2021 at his residence in Silver Spring, MD. He was a native of Gary, Indiana.
Richard earned a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and master’s degree from George Washington University. He was a dedicated member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., where he was a charter member of both his chapter at Purdue University and the Iota Upsilon Lambda chapter in Montgomery County, Maryland. Richard was also a charter member of the Beta Mu chapter of Sigma Pi phi Fraternity, Inc., where he remained very active until recent years.
Richard was employed at the Department of the Navy, Bureau of Ships where he was an integral part of the design, development, integration, testing and implementation of electronic systems and submarine applications for the United States Navy.
He is survived by a host of family members and close friends. Services will be held at Sharp Street United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 5, 2021– Viewing at 10:00 am and Funeral Services at 11:00 am. Interment at Norbeck Memorial Park, Olney, Maryland.
