Ronald Hewitt Obituary

The wonderful life of Ronald Charles Hewitt began on July 6, 1980 in Queens, New York. Son of Judy Hewitt, famously known to Ronald as “My Judy”.  And for Judy, Ronald was known as “My One and Only”.   In 1982 Judy and Ronald migrated to the Washington, DC area.  Ronald attended Olney Elementary, William Farquhar Middle School and graduated from Magruder High School as an ROTC officer.  He was a great athlete who ran track, wrestled and played football.  Judy and Ronald where members of The People’s Community Baptist Church where Ronald started his relationship with the Lord.

On his birthday July 6, 2000, Ronald welcomed his first born and only son, Jabari, into the world. On January 19, 2003, he married his first wife Rebekah, and together they had three beautiful girls Alegra, Angelica and Abegail.  He loved his children dearly.  He enjoyed the precious time he spent with them. A very family oriented individual, he loved getting together for family gatherings where he was invariably the life of the party.  An extremely popular young man with a dimple that illuminated his face and accentuated his friendly disposition. He will remain etched in everyone’s memory as the embodiment of kindness.  A kindness that was at times too trusting of others.

After graduating from Greensville Community College with an Associate’s degree in Business Management, he obtained his certification from Barber School.   Working for P.J. Home Improvement inspired him to create his own construction business where he had many clients. He also worked for Greystar Management as a Maintenance Engineer.   Ronald loved his family and celebrating holidays with them was his joy.   Fortunately, he was able to see his two eldest graduate from High School.  He enjoyed his Trinidadian culture, especially Caribbean food.  Curry shrimp and oxtails were his favorite.  He would never let us forget that we were “Trini to the Bone”.

Ronald married his second wife Hannah on August 12, 2019.  She preceded him in transitioning on April 15, 2021.

Ronald leaves behind his Mother Judy (Perry aka Pops); Children: Jabari, Allegra, Angelica, and Abigail; Grandfather Herman Hewitt Sr; a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, extended Family and Friends.
