Russell David Peek, Jr. was born on November 10, 1953, in Washington, D.C. He was the youngest child of the late Russell David Peek, Sr. and Earline Naomi Peek. He is survived by three sisters, Rosalind E. Felder (David), Yvonne N. Malcolm, and Carolyn M. Sewer, and a host of relatives.
Russell attended D.C. public schools and graduated from Calvin Coolidge High School. He attended Lincoln University in Jefferson City, MO. He later received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from Winthrop University.
He served as Senior Relationship Manager at United Negro College Fund (UNCF), where he coordinated a comprehensive mentoring program for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Millennium Scholars Program. Russell later worked for Medical Transportation Management, Inc., in Washington, D.C., later moving to their facility in Las Vegas, NV where he was a Community Outreach Trainer.
Services will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ, 5301 North Capital St., N.E., Washington, D.C. 20011. Visitation: 10:00 a.m., Service: 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Fort Lincoln Cemetery on Bladensburg Road in Brentwood, MD.
